Mihaela received her Dipl.-Bioinf. degree from the Ludwig-Maximilians University (LMU) and Technical University München (TUM), Germany, in 2007. She received her doctoral degree (Dr. rer.nat) from TUM in 2015. During her doctoral studies she focused on the analyses of complex cereal genomes, as well as on the development and implementation of novel strategies to unravel the structure of grass genomes. She has been a member of the research staff at the Plant Genome and Systems Biology (PGSB) at Helmholtz Center Munich for over seven years before joining NBIS bioinformatics short-term support in April 2015. At PGSB she worked among others on whole genome and transcriptome analyses, comparative genomics, and analysis of supernumerary B chromosomes. Within NBIS, Mihaela offers support with the analysis of next generation sequencing data, focussed mainly on analysis of RNA-Seq data.
